Common Core Lessons from McCall/DonnellyĪccording to a recent post from Alfred music publishers on Facebook, they are giving away a free reproducible activity every Friday for the month of December. The links to the plans are found under the information for TVHM, at the bottom right hand corner of the page, under "common core music files". These evaluation tools really help students develop skills in listening and responding to musical performances. So, with his permission, I would like to share his web page (which is a great model for creating a class page) and three lesson plans/evaluation tools he is using for his band and choir classes in the middle school and high school. As the directors meet together to work out the schedule for next year our meeting turned into a professional development session as one of the directors shared how he is meeting common core requirements in his own classroom. Recently, I was at an honor meet for choir and band students. I think it is important to share resources with other music educators, as do many of us.
